it was not until just before tokio confronted sumio in tsuki that i realized he was even oone of the perpetrators of that case

i had to rewatch the end of parade because i was like "wow i wonder if tokio even told anyone, tetsu wouldn't want to keep being a source if he ever found out that he didn't"

but having rewatched it i feel a little better about not noticing, the dialogue is pretty obtuse

anyway this is why you always play the corresponding chapter of placebo after any chapter of transmission

sometimes you need the perspective switch to have any grasp on the events you literally watched unfold

though it's kind of the other way around for decoyman and yume

decoyman gives you a good outside view of the events of the case, but yume gives you a very vague impression of the part tokio was personally involved with

maybe he met a ghost??? maybe he had a bad time after meeting a ghost??? he doesn't want to think about it

i am not sure if he met a ghost or if he met that lady before she died, but i am at least confident that ghosts are real

more on the "you wouldn't even know sumio was arrested": throughout kamuidrome tetsu visits sumio in prison and these scenes don't have the time or location tags every other scene in the game has

i figured out the triangle towers puzzle pretty immediately, but now i'm wondering if there's anything worth reading in the other ones, since most of what i've seen so far is flavor text giving the shelter kids policy a little more texture

speaking of puzzles, i went into this really expecting that the codebreaking puzzles from lunatics were going to be present throughout the game, especially since that was the main shape of gameplay in flower sun and rain

a little relieved to discover that isn't the case, i think one reason i put the game off for as long as i did was that expectation

instead most of it is like "here is a map that's almost like a maze, maybe. find the point of interest. now here's an indentical map, find the point of interest."

walkaround sections are almost like an intermission from the novel sections, which is good since you can't save during novel sections

this is especially true of placebo chapters, where the walkarounds are basically exclusively "walk the ten feet from tokio's bed to his computer each morning"

and there are parts in transmission that are like that too, much of kamuidrome is just akira checking his email while everything happens to other characters
