I lost power steering and parked it then couldn't get it started again. After I let it sit it just barely got started so I took it across the street to a valvoline. Now it's not starting again so I'm waiting to see if I can get it into the bay.
late to the party but I'm glad that you got that taken care of! I've seen corrosion to the point that it eats the terminal and then you have to get the whole thing rewired, and that is not fun. anytime you see it, you want to get it taken care of sooner rather than later.
Yeah. I'm wondering if the corrosion damaged the terminals after all, and the previous place didn't catch it. Though, if the work the other place did is under any kind of warranty, go to them first, because they owe you to do it right.
Though, I can't imagine that having a power steering issue would cause the car to stall? But newer cars are so interconnected with things now via their computers, that who knows? /sigh/ It's not simple anymore to diagnose a car issue.
definitely check the fuses. there's also a possibility you may have a loose terminal on the battery then it's not getting the power that it needs... or the terminals need to be redone.
though the car only uses the battery really to start, unless of course it's an electrical car, or you happen to have the Auto stop start feature. could have blown a fuse, could have overloaded something, or there's the possibility it could have been something completely unrelated that just happened to go now...
oof... yeah. The alternator can be a pain when it goes because it affects so many things. But, if you can find a junk place, you might be able to get a decent used one cheaper. For the pipe, I'd definitely have that replaced with a new one.
That doesn't look good. What do I do?
