honestly, the remake series is really good without tank controls

as well as 7, 8, and original 4

resident evil 1 hd remake has mulitple control options, including analog controls

you only have to use tank controls if you want to

I just tried to get into the originals and it is. hard

yeah they're tough. but the version of re1 on steam should be pretty accessible!

I'd take Izzy's advice here, though I will offer that tank controls get easier with practice; the early (pre-4) games will always feel clunkier than normal with their tank controls because they have geometry. issues.

I do forget if OG 4 has non-tank options but like said, REmake (the GC one) has multiple options for controls

would you consider the over-the-shoulder pov to be tank controls? as compared to OG 1-3

If I remember right I played Code Veronica as my first RE and there's a little hallway in the beginning where you can easily practice tank controls

which is what I did until I felt comfortable with them
