BUT, I will say, maybe Deathnote should've ended after L died? The Mellow and Near portion of the plot felt ultimately tacked on and all it served was to stretch things out before Light ultimately gets caught himself.
Honestly, the 2 Part live action movies flowed a bit better in that regard, where Light gets found out, but only because L made a huge gamble that paid off.
Also, BlazBlue really lost me at the end of Chrono Phantasma, where the whole game's story seemed to be able making Ragna give a shit about people and the world, only to go "OOPS! HE BECAME THE BLACK BEAST ANYWAY! SO MUCH FOR THAT DEVELOPMENT!"
Maybe Central Fiction fixes that, but honestly, the whole thing pissed me off so much that I didn't even bother.
like I'm not opposed to the 'characters realize they're video game characters' trope, but like, something about the game portray this world as it's own universe, only for the rug to get pulled out just feels like a big middle finger to me.
