there is something deeply sobering and painful

about telling your therapist "I don't know how to tell you what I need. No one has ever asked before."

it's not a new fact.

but speaking it aloud hurts.

and I haven't really stopped crying since.

35 years and countless therapists and it's just really that simple.

That's a painful thing to grapple with and I'm proud of you for getting to the point where you can say it.
