Hanna has been doing shit solo since he was sixteen, major lift shift didn't do him any favors on trusting people. and it's majorly hinted that he blew up his previous support system of friends afterwards, probably because if he told them the truth about what actually happened they wouldn't believe him
the setting isn't going to inspire him to fight with as ridiculous optimism but it'll still be there. that and in retrospect wowo look at all those characterization mistakes I made 10 years ago but WHAT EVER THAT WAS THEN.
