[d&d] I'm working on a character sheet for level 1 wizard. Can I have some recommendations for spells to take? I am indecisive and this list is long.

I have not played one before. Also he can fly if that is relevant. I'm interested in the Scribes subclass once leveling up happens.

shield, magic missile easy

sleep, detect magic

i forget how many you can take at lvl 1

3 cantrip, 2 level 1. Those ones sound good

you get more on leveling and you can memorize/copy spell scrolls so be on the lookout

or if you find another wizards spell book

it's supposed to cost money but thats dm choice

collect all the spells

since his wings are attached to his arms if I want to do casting while flying I'll probably have to take war caster to make that possible. and a spellbook would be awkward so if it's an option I want to go with something wearable. maybe he writes spells on strips of fabric.
