the fires are quite far north! about 7/8 hours drive, give or take a bit, I think, so the only thing I’m in danger of is smoke inhalation when it drifts in on the wind

The smoke is what I worry about, we got a TON of it last year from all the fires across Canada, even here in KANSAS!! it was like an orange alert, too, I couldn't work out outside due to my asthma

UGH...so sorry. Today was absolutely BTTW. And then I had to talk my dad down off the ledge this afternoon, Mom was being very difficult and he was at his wits end with that and with waiting to hear from neurologists' office since MONDAY to square an appointment for an assessment of Mom's legs and lumbar region to figure out what is wrong.

She can't move her legs, she can't pee on her own. There has to be nerve compression somewhere that happened while she's been bedbound, or when she collapsed at home after the hospital discharged her too early.

Hope your day was better. SO...you've got a significant other!! Tell me about her/them, how you met, all that jazz. IIRC, you were either ace or demi back when I last talked to you, I can't remember.

yeah, I do! we worked together back at the concert hall, if you recall that last job? she was an usher/bartender/assistant house manager, and we were friends for two years first, then we decided to go out :> we've been together 7 years this year, I think? that sounds right

and I'm still ace! she collects ace people, apparently - no ace person I know knows another one until they meet her, and then they get a collection

I do not! I left a little before I finished school last year; just not enough time to work there still, and most of my friends had left too
