Oh. Hey. Did we get more money? Is that why Kory's powers, all the house stuff, everyone's black eyes, Trigon's new form, this snake wher gar FINALLY gets another animal formetc.
Rachel's hair is different, but I think I liked the S1 streaks better. Gar's hair is definitely better. Dick still looks like S1 himself. Same with Jason. // Actually, Jason's hair is better.
I don't know about that. I just. I guess I get what they're riffing off, even though it's nothing like the comics itself. Not that I expect it to be. But it's kind of pulling apart and trying to read between their lines.
OMG. WHO ARE YOU DICK. YOU'VE LIKE TOTALLY BECOME ANOTHER PERSON IN TWO EPISODES. BRUCE AND DICK ARE HAVING AN EMOTIONAL MOMENT ON THE PHONE. AND THEY ARE SAYING THE RIGHT MORE TRUE TO THINGS.
Suddenly S2!Dick isn't the brutal beat 'em kill 'em machine of S1!Dick and now Hank (who along with Dove was freaked out about that in S1) is calling Dick on the carpet for not taking someone out?
Dick is punching this standing punching block, and all I'm thinking about is Sara's scenes in Arrow S2 doing the same thing. (The vague parallel amuses me. I won't really have a true opinion on it until I see how they handle Dick post-the Lazarus Pit.)
I appreciate us getting a scene where they both got to semi-apologize, and focus on what went right, and talk about Dawn in a way that positively supported Hawk-Dawn vis-a-vie Hawk's Own Trauma and wasn't just writing for jealousy sake, which so much of last season was.
How exactly does this Dawn-Dick thing fit in, if Dawn-Hank got together pre-Titans, post-deaths that lead to costumes & getting down. How is just cool and not a thing.
Donna & Garth ofc sleep together, which is poignant and lovely, except she's not telling him the truth. And thheeennnn besty friend silent goodbyes. Just longing sad looks. Because no goodbyes.
I think it's cute you're offended there are cameras in every room, and you say "Blame Bruce Wayne," as though this footage isn't 100% going to where he is all the time, too.
How do these teammates of yours not know you well enough to know you'd throw yourself on the bomb rather than a child. ~I knew~ you were gonna offer yourself up the moment you said "Not Rose. I have another plan."
I should write more, but after pushing myself through both of my long plotting posts for Jo/Sabine, I'm just going to curl up and watch some more and feel like an achey, exhausted blob.
I DO HAVE TO COMPLIMENT that Season 2 does feel much more like it's in a comics world, like they are trying to lean out of the ABSOLUTION OF DARK GRIM IS OUR ONLY SHADE and into something at least a touch more source true
But also they are wanting to play with more characters So they sort of have to do a lot more around things
Three episode back Garth died at the end, two back episode Jason was falling out a tower at the end, last one ended with Connor screaming shot thought with kryptonite.
That whole Kory-Rachel saving Connor thing was pretty great. Nice show, nice silly, super young face. This person is doing great with that utterly innocent face on him.
Season 2 at least learned how to drag something out so the reveal was 8 episodes after the first inference to the topic, and not less than 30-40 minutes later.
And then everyone packed up and left immediately. I mean. Okay. That's just. Disjointed. Weird. So this is how Dawn & Dick just ended. This is how the Titans ended originally. With the self-sacrifice of a child, and Dick's culpability to the situation happening.
all because dick has to do it all by himself. he can't wait for his team. these are his burdens. he thinks it's cause he's a selfish idiot. always, going off on his own to try and save the day, because in the end, he's the one responsible. then he carries the guilt when it all goes wrong. but of course this story isn't finished. pft.
Even if this is very you in a lot of ways. I'm just also like super disappointed no one on your team was like "OFC Dick would sacriice himself vs. a child" and "OFC Dick is going to follow him."
(The first would be comic-y correct. The second would be to makw sure the kid was safe and not hurt.)

: I know not comics, so i am learning. It's all very emotional for the Dick in my head. But, it's good to know how the comics Dick works. I love learning.

: I'm ssssoo here to help. I've read everything, and I may just throw links, images, and wiki's at you as we go (so you've got a lil context from me/her too), and it a little rich hitting dichotomy of Barbara's "But this is not you and "......I'm so making some wrong assumptions here" too.

: I am pleased at least to see it's leaning more into comics roots in season 2. It's still very different, but pulling in more. Kon, Cadmus, Lex Luther, Aqualad, Krytpo. Balancing out the sharpeness in places with more light. A little more humor, a little more love (romantic, platonic, and filial), a little more team bonds
No Bruce. She sent him in to talk to "them" and the show expected you not to catch it the first time. And you're supposed to be Dick's brain vaguely remembering it but not actively.
Because he wasn't paying attention to anything at that point anyway.
... Bruce is here to talk everyone into being a Titan and a chosen family? my level of wtf is so SO VAST here. Bruce - diner - mansplained - what. I'm just so - what.
(.... I'm going steadily with saying I believe something is deeply wrong with this setup. And it's either something else entirely, or it's insanely bad writing ....)
I would like it better if the whole room of ladies wasn't still just talk about one boy, who did make his own choices, and who they do not need to rescue en mass.
Could you not use "bird of prey" like it's not a direct Barbara Gordon (etc) reference for anyone who knows comics. While you continue to shoehorn in how to get to "who are you if not Robin?"
2.01
"Trigon"
How did we really do a whole season without getting there
i love you donna
WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOREVER
But. okay. weirdo drema hallucination world.

2.02
"Rose"
He's only been asking that since like 1.04 or 5, Jason.
At least Dick is a great dealer lighter so far.
Why why why are they so precious.
I'm here for this.
It has real depth & real conversations.
Ups, downs, continuity.
DID YOU JUST CALL THEM FAMILY.
YOU WEREN'T EVEN OKAY WITH "TEAM" IN S1.
Like in actual factual closer to leaning into it ways.
2.03
"Ghosts"
Dawn, no.
~shrug~

As I'm making mac & cheese now too
I appreciate you sitting on the table.
She's not a teammate? She didn't ask to be here?
(God. SSSSSOOO MANY of my characters have such a look and response to this idea so much.)
Dick didn't know Kory was either
That's not what Titans is about.
It was a good cliffhanger for people not knowing that.
2.06
"Conner"
OMG IS THIS CADMUS. IT IS ISN'T IT
then robbed the lady for his t-shirt
while having no clue about any of it
"Krytpo. I think we're Kansas now."
But also they are wanting to play with more characters
So they sort of have to do a lot more around things
2.07
"Bruce Wayne"
stop this pattern.
it's less exciting when it's predictable
Bring me back more Connor & Krypto.
2.08
"Jericho"
We don't get to choose our fathers."
The same way it did with Garth, right?
Jericho will get in the way to save Dick, right?
Even if this is very you in a lot of ways. I'm just also like super disappointed no one on your team was like "OFC Dick would sacriice himself vs. a child" and "OFC Dick is going to follow him."
(The first would be comic-y correct. The second would be to makw sure the kid was safe and not hurt.)
2.09
"Atonement"

"E.L._.O"
T-Minus 3 episodes to BarbaraBack to Bruce Wayne spectre.
Because he wasn't paying attention to anything at that point anyway.
Whispering, "You're missing something, son."
the way Jericho did in front of Dick
Gar, and Donna, and Rae trying to call Dick
the way Dick was telling Rae not to give up in her dream.
Literally, in that house.
These are just plain normal prison guards.
You could take them blindfolded. Literally.
