yeah, no matter what, because I've basically read all of Dick's stuff, and every Titans run out there (save like maybe the last 3-4 issues of current, which I'll read soon enough), this is going to be 100% au all the way

I'm still trying to stop correlating to comics comparison immeadiately. But like. Kory's happy go lucky, positive outlook most of the time contrasted to this. There's a lot of early show GrimDark going on, and I'm waiting to get to the silly & cheeky that is much more Titans-y.
I love how you're very much lead into this origin story as "Dick's Story." Batman in the window as only a shadow looking out. Bruce behind the double sided glass, looking at it from behind him. The shadow in the hallway, defined as a person. He's a shape. A shadow. The one we already know.
There is a grimdark to this whole thing I keep expecting to lighten somewhere and it doesn't. I may end up reading Titan's comics issues between these.

It's so weird to constantly get these little hints that he's run away from Bruce/Batman, and trying to run away from "Robin" (/being Robin) because when he puts on the Robin mask he becomes someone he doesn't like, someone he can't control, who likes hurting others.

Everyone listens to Kory. Which is just and proper. Even if Kory is very not Kory, and I'm glad they went with beautiful Senegalese-American woman if they couldn't do the comic thing, but I'm still missing her being orange & only briefly giddy when she is during powers-time.

: I do VERY MUCH like that stylistic choice. That he's only a shape, a shadow, seen from behind. He's the caricature of himself, without stealing the spotlight. The foundation of everything. The shadows at the edges of Dick's every current thought and move.
It might be my favorite stylistic choice of this show so far.
It almost hurts to write against some of the comic stuff now ~ I swear. It's like writing some of my MCU stuff. oi. One day my heart will dissolve and I will buy my first comic and the world will be over.

This purple outfit Kory's in. I know it's supposed to be indicative, but it's mostly super distracting from her scenes. All I can do is stare at it shimmer and ripple.
I just described her and compared her to angel from hazbin hotel in dick's mind while he's on happy rain. It made me laugh so damn hard. Then dick made elephant sounds and made the lions go away. idek what that scene was.
