from the way the trailer is set up, i'm assuming that Krile, Alphie, and Y'stola are on 'our' side, and Thancred, Urianger, and Alisae are on the 'other' side

i have very little interest in high-end raiding. I am doing a little of it what with trying to punch a vampire in the face, but in my experience it's long, drawn-out, frustrating, and boring all at once
re savage/the challenge, I realized I like it... with people I'm comfortable with. like, the thought of going in with a random group? not very appealing.. the twice-weekly raid times with my static which we started when we were like level 50 and tried to do coils synched? fun. because the group is comfortable
i was very determined that I'm such a bad player that I couldn't do it. but now I've cleared coils normal, as, os, and we're at gaols in uwu and I'm realizing that while not the best player and still needing to optimize damage (I'm heals so for prog focusing on staying alive/keeping the party alive is fine) it's doable for me

So yeah, the sundered residents live there, taking advantage of whatever fix the Ancients came up with to ward off the other Calamities, able to advance far beyond anyone else who have to start over every few hundred years
