BUT THE PROBLEM IS it’s for a guy who is like two steps ahead of everyone else! So I write a brief summary of an interaction and what they learned from it, and two hundred pages later it’s like “oops surprise I was lying to my naive narrator friend, I was doing THIS OTHER THING”
And I have sections for military victories alone that aren’t even included because this is what happens when your memory is fallible but your character’s isn’t
App character gets jumped by three others during his career where narrator character sees. App character is hurt. Narrator character runs to defend and scares the attackers off.
TWO HUNDRED PAGES LATER, app and narrator characters are talking and app character goes “yeah we are gonna pretend we are hurt so as to lure our attackers out.” “This sounds suspiciously familiar. WAIT that time five years ago when you got jumped, were you really hurt or was it just a game to stall the attackers???” “lol”
thank you for believing in me I am like fifty pages from the end of book one and going like "well at least I remembered the twists here so I don't have to rewrite the app from day 1"
