Last time I played Doronai Nui was 9.x, I think I made an attempt at 10.0 but didn't get to it (when I mentioned that they nerfed the dagger... aw :[ )
oh shit, it's 5 am. I got so exited to re-start my campaign I didn't realized I stayed up. no kidding I'm pretty sure I started at 10 PM. (I did keep getting distracted)
I think I'm done! yay! Going to revise some things maybe. I need to look at NPC/ENEMY lists again to remake my encounter list. But I think Adventurer's tool box can help me with that
I miss old owlbear, I know this lets you add more but.... the simplicity was the appeal. Felt lighter, rolling dice was better and less restricted, very easy.
Wanted to play with Fantasy map using Doronai's time information, but apparently the detailed time is gone aw.... I got an older version with it saved, so it's fine
Btw, this is all taken from Doronai Nui 9.1.2 (Or the best I could) and me placing what I assume Dhuí Nui weather is like. I thought guests were able to change "location" for different weather types but...
I'm adding the events that are given on the 2007's Bionicle World and rolling the specific days using a 1d20 and 1d12... and omg... The matoran civil war fell right into Naming day (10th day of the 8th month) ajfkjkdkf
btw, if anyone wants to take and modify what I did, but doesn't want to do all that from the beginning. Here is the export. I think you can just copy and paste it on a new map's export. Again, it's Doronai Nui 9.1.2 made up time + using events with hard year dates from the Bionicle World ancyclopedia + some biosector01 information so do whatever you please
Something I would complain about DN, would even talk about changing if I had any say on it and wasn't afraid to sounding rude is: Why the fuck is Water Crafting Proficient Calligraphy????
Like, What's the connection? I get they were "teachers" but: In comparison to every other Crafting Prof by element it's the least useful, which is lame, and in Metru Nui they did a lot more interesting stuff than... writing.
They literally were the ones that purified Protodermis. And now that I'm reading the crafting system, giving them something that could relate to it, something around Admixture, would make way more sense.
Anyway, I did ignore this and instead just gave Kynai Crafting prof in Tool Making since it relates to backstory and... again, I think calligraphy for the game is a bit lame.
I think this campaign is going way better than the last ones, around interpretation/moving the story, etc. I think I truly got the hang of it this time.
OH, remember when I said they had taken out the detailed time from DN? I was wrong it just wasn't on the rules guide anymore, it was on environment guide, I feel really dumb now because I had read the guide akdfjkdf .....
Still on the fence about this, but is it too cheaty to make combat faster by cutting NPCs AP in half? It's already so difficulty to consider what they are going to do, even with my npc combat action table. Maybe go for the full AP if it's only one NPC vs PC
Ok, so. Two enemies down, right. What I'm learning from this is that fights with multiple characters solo can be a bit of a drag, as in, it's harder to really go into it with CMs etc. I wonder if there is a way to automate NPC fights, while I concentrate in one enemy with my PC (then obviously full AP for both. Thought this was not a bad strategy...
Back at the TF game, a bit lost where to start, but, I really got to learn how to use the Mythic's threads. I think giving my character the objective of getting the mac-gffin before leaving was a bit of a mistake.
oooh, you know what. For a prison ship going thought a mutiny, this place empty. Maybe I should take some inspiration from that prison escape level from WFC.
I'm using Central Casting Dungeons for this game, and just re-interpreting. but kind of wishing I had gotten a map at random spaceship generator or starship geomorphies. ah, well
Had a sudden urge to play a Robot in a more solid Sci-fi setting because I keep getting recommended Star Wars Droid lore. I know there is Mutant Year Zero Mecha(something), but any time I try to read it my brain just... idk, not feeling it???
Since it was the source of the inspiration, I turned to Star Wars RPGs, pleasant surprised at Saga Droid making! Still making my character thought. I got a pretty high roll (18 mod 4) that I placed on Int, just for the game to add to my mod and it becomes 6. So now I have 11 to add to my skills... I broke the rule and choose skill outside my class sorry
All this to mention that it's nice to finally have a game with a bunch of generators made for it. Don't have to make my own, especially since my Star Wars Lore is a bit limited anyway
The campaign is turning in the direction of mystery, a lot of talking for now. Intimidating last interaction with a RA protocol droid unit while trying to piece together this strange situation with a client who is from a type of commercial alliance who is being probably targeted.
This protocol unit and the PZ protocol unit that belongs to the client is leading TO-2 to not trust Protocol droids much. Also, they are her client in the way of she piloting the ship they are using for transport, the searching around is her own doing... maybe I can't trust the clients either.
hm, I don't remember if the game gave us, are there rules to rejecting protocol as a droid? I can't kill right now until I get an Independent Droid class, but if I was forced to... Could I maybe roll a high DC with my will? Against it?
Was still planning at what time it would be taking, I mentioned the empire in game, so around a bit after the Clone Wars but... since I've been watching the clone wars and, etc... I kind want to move it to the clone wars? I'll think about it. But maybe I'll keep with the original idea
Could always make a spin-off AU, I mostly imagine her interacting with separatist or republic forces as someone who does transport going between systems.
Have this very clear plot idea of her at Separatist space being held out, then finding out republic runaways hiding on her ship while also trying to sneak out a B1 Deserter, while also navigating interaction against a T-1.
Fun fact about the TO Series, their main communication is in Binary (They are Astromechs competitor after all), even if they are proper vocabulator compatible. TO-2 sudden reactions like laughing or others are thought binary.
Anyway, procrastinating because I wasted all my cations (except Swift that I have no idea what to use it for rn) in my 4 victories before 2 losses chase and now have to suffer the consequences.
I listen to RPG music mixes related to what I'm RPGing, so I'm listening to "Rebel ambush" rpg mix, and the song is dramatic.
I failed the chase and will be dealing with a confrontation while in my exclusive transportation mode, so can't do anything but move, but out of the move actions to leave the mode.
Thankfully the Security Droid missed, my health still bad thought, suddenly idea, I will charge and trip the Droid, they will end up prone, and I'll still be on my quickest mode to escape this confrontation and try the chase rolls again.
Roll just as the song turns into a heroic tune, success! Very fun!
I want to finish my SW game quest first (It's close to the end) but 810nicle day made me really want to get back to my Doronai Game, so I'm revising Kynai's Character Sheet... I don't think I'll need to completely remake it, especially because I... I just can't be bothered right now.....
But it doesn't look like anything about her is affected, so It's fiiinee. I'll give a re-read on the rules, but that's about it, I do need to check on the weapons as well!
I'm considering that new Parkourist Archetype tho, but I don't want to level up yet... though I could... I just also don't want to sacrifice anything, because. If I stay on 5, I would either sacrifice my Assailant or Spy (both LV 1) but... The Sleight of Hand Prof is really useful... but then Assailant's force Fort save is also good...
Ok... I'll level up to 6 and get Parkour... but then that's is IT, no more new Archetypes or Supertypes, invest in what I got! Especially because I got Assailant to give me 1 little edge on combat
Hey guys... remember when I switched from the Hooked dagger to the Hooks because they had nerfed the dagger....... You guys will not fucking believe what happened to the hooks.........
Should I go for the Shortspear or just use the old DMG of the hooks? I mostly think this is funny but also a bit of odd nerf, I kind of understood the hooked dagger but the hooks? Maybe because it's a paired weapon?
Honestly, maybe the Archetype I'll give up for Parkour is the Weaver. Even if I go to LV6, LV weaver is pretty useful, but I think Parkour is more what I want? Also, losing a Stealth Expertise isn't a big hit, it's already pretty buff on its on
About the dagger and hooks being "nerfed", is nerfed even the right word, is it going from 1d4 to 1 that bad? Especially with the mods I got in game for it during my game? I wish I had a reference to what would be a good weapon for a LV 6 Matoran
Only that, What I had gotten was an Extra die, how does extra die work here...? And wait, it's 0 slots weapons... did I ignore slot space for a bit of a boost?
Paired axes would be a good upgrade... but maybe I can update the hooked dagger to tier 1? I... like the look of kynai using the dagger... it fits her... Upgrading would be best
Oh yeah! The quility/tier has recommended levels, I forgo... yeah, tier 1 would be best. I remember something in crafting guide about upgrading tiers, I just don't remember if there is any extra rules besides +ing everything or if it was a "ya can't do it..."
OOOOOOOOOOOH, It wasn't an upgrade mod, I had "upgrated" the hooks to quality 1, that's why I remember mitigating my -1 attack but could not figure out what I added
alright, I'll go for Tier 1 Hooked Daggers I think, maybe cheat and add Paired weapons despite not having enough slots.... or sacrifice the Rahi Handling.
Rolling for stealth when your stealth is 9 is insane, and that's because I had 11 before. With the benefits of the Specter Archetype too, completely invisible
I want to play TF, but I'm too lazy to get my already running game going. I think I'll bring Breakcast and Cog-Ent back and play a ready to play adventure solo.
Transformers had many different OSTs over the time, but I feel like the only OST I can listen and only think about Transformers is G1 OST. Not because the others are bad, but because... idk, just feels very transformers in a way?
Tales from the Beacon of Hope Adventure: Group of Autobots beat up already wounded Decepticons in the Med-Bay and the two Engineers repairing them. Truly, the real evil faction.

Cog-Ent: Comet! Kill!
