Question: I have my car registered in California now but Texas is still sending me renewal notices. What do I do, if anything?

As far as I'm aware, the CA DMV is supposed to notify the TX DMV of the change in registration, and that's what happened when I moved away from CA

So far this has just been email and text though, so it might just be automated??

But like, I have a CA title for the car, and CA plates with valid stickers

Usually there's a process to let them know you registered the car elsewhere. Every state has a different one, afaik

CA should send something to TX but dunno if TX requires an extra step to let them know.

When I looked it up everything I found said it should be handled when I register in a new state

Sounds like you're good? I'd see if there's a contact email or number to confirm. CA sent me an auto renewal after I registered in WA, so it might just mean that system didn't get updated yet.

There is an email form but they say 'give us all this information' and then don't... give you a box to put any of it in...

I'm just not going to worry about it I think. I know my car is legally registered in CA.

And before it ran out in TX

When we left CA, we had to inform like, everybody we left the state, and that included the DMV. But CA is a different beast.
