i'm watching shin godzilla (again) and i always laugh at how they depict the americans

like they take jabs at america constantly but also there's the one scene which i feel like probably mirrors a scene in eva where the three US officials are in an office together

three windows, three pillars of light, etc

and the one guy makes this very heartfelt "it's not enough time for japan" comment and it's like
that's very kind

also they make a comment at one point about the girl that's supposed to be like the US ambassador and how america gave her the opportunity to serve in that job because america values performance over age and it's like hahaha WHERE
