[tunnet] I'm 2 minutes in and stuck
Cute Quinn
the game has told me to place a relay
Cute Quinn
and it will not let me place the relay
Cute Quinn
left clicking to place relay does not do anything
Cute Quinn
https://images.plurk.com/rdxXJHONerEEzaYohsktx.png it shows this preview, then doesn't place it

You don't have any credits! Check in the room before the mainframe and in the kitchen for toolboxes with glowing particle effects coming off them, they give you enough credits to get you through the tutorial.
Cute Quinn
oh it costs money to place as well as to buy?
pixie lovemail
Yyyyyep.
pixie lovemail
It also costs money to drill, whenever you get to that point, but once you get the network up and running you get a trickle of income.

I'm going to be honest I respect what this game is trying to do but it has way too many rough edges for me to like, personally.
Cute Quinn
the scanner seems to make the exact same sound in all circumstances
Cute Quinn
is it based on direction or proximity or
Cute Quinn
I literally pointed it at every wall in the building and got the exact same beep every time
Cute Quinn
I think I am probably not gonna buy the full game
Cute Quinn
getting stuck twice in the tutorial is a dealbreaker
pixie lovemail
I don't regret the $6 I spent on it since it's just $6 going to an indie studio and some of it was fun, but, like
pixie lovemail
There are so many rough edges that are super unintuitive and frustrating
pixie lovemail
(For the record, the way the scanner works is that you get a proximity icon in the upper right of your screen, but I ALSO didn't spot it for like, five minutes.)

The real hell part is after you get through the start of the game and get more of your tools, namely the network filters which can speed up your network by sending back packets that aren't addressed to the destination endpoint. This is important and helps you optimize.
pixie lovemail
...but.
pixie lovemail
Getting them to work is HELL because of the way everything automatically snaps to the nearest port, so if you're trying to set up your network architecture right you have to do it in a very specific order or else your ports will link wrong and you'll have to start over.
pixie lovemail
Which is the point where I basically gave up on the game.
Cute Quinn
alas

It's a great concept that could've used another, like, six months of QA and playtesting to smooth out all the rougher edges.
