I still have a swimming pool in my basement. Feel free to come over for a swim. Clothing optional. Mind the spiders. They seem to have made themselves quite at home down there.

I got up early today to call the landlord about. The old one would’ve come today most likely but he said he’ll be by sometime this week. Who knows when.
It goes up to the first shelf there. That’s about a foot deep. Two maybe three steps under water.

Is there any sort of code enforcement there? I also believe fire department may pump it out for you too.

apple : I told the landlord. If he wants to wait that’s not my problem. Apparently all the other basements around here are flooded too. We live below sea level. Pumping water out is like breathing here. LOL

I think the FD could come out but then he’d be charged. He’s got a pump and people working for him so it’s no biggie. Pumps probably in use somewhere else.

thaumata: no. Just the ancient bottles on the top shelf. Yak was the only one that went down there. I’m terrified of those stairs. When he got sick I had him bring anything left down there upstairs.

I used to have a finished basement. When it flooded, the carpet mildewed and the smell was horrible. I don’t know how y’all manage, but I hope it’s all fixed now.

☆꧁Snow꧂☆ : oh my. Yeah thank goodness there’s no carpet down there. It’s pretty much just a root cellar. Isn’t that what they’re called when you store home canned goods?
Still not fixed. I’m told, some time this week they’re coming.
