Backstory: My Mom was in Texas and saw a turtle in the middle of the road, instead of putting it on the other side of the road, she decided to bring it back home to NM because she thought it would be happy in her backyard.
We wanted to return it to Texas but none of the wildlife rescues we contacted could take it back. Soooo, we've had a turtle for a few years and mom acts surprised it is still alive each time she sees it?
Well, yeah, we couldn't take him back to Texas where he belongs, and we just can't dump a turtle in the desert. And we also figured that he really can't go back i the wild anymore because of mom
Like, we are glad Mom has a soft heart and blah blah blah good trait to have in this cruel world, but....I AM PRETTY SURE HE WOULDA BEEN HAPPIER IF HE WAS JUST PUT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD
Like, she started to feed a stray cat in her neighborhood, and assumed after like...a week of it coming to her house to eat, it must not have a home and tried to have me and my bro take it in
yeah, but Mom lives in a pretty nice HOA neighborhood which I know isn't saying much but Bro and I are also like 'Mom, we're at our legal limit of animals at our house and really do not want to introduce another cat to the clowder.'
I would not be surprised with the number of idiots who think their 5 pound murder machine can somehow survive out where 40 pound murder machines travel
Mom: Oh the turtle is still alive!
Me: Well, yeah, its a turtle.
