people comparing Shadow and Bone to One Piece in terms of viewership and renewal chances, trying to say OP has the same risks as SaB when it comes to season 2 renewal. lmao

OP broke records set by Stranger Things. it got renewed day one where we had to wait a month for Shadow and Bone. it is also bringing in New and Old fans like no one's business?

also a lot of set work is practical effects outside of Luffy and Buggy so like...much more cost effective?

also, hard to compare a YA fantasy book series to literally the largest manga/anime franchise in history. like...it's so big that people actually believed it out-sold the Bible (it didn't but you know, it's so hyped that is believable).

like One Piece has spanned almost three decades...they are not the same, it's apples and oranges in comparison

Like, I love the books the show is based on, and haven’t really checked out the series (kept meaning to, but other things just kept coming up and I was never a big fan of the first set of books)

i love them both but I know OP is...yeah OP. as someone that's a fan of the books, I liked the series btw. second season puts a lot of Crooked Kingdom bits in bc the writers wanted to give the fans something in case of non renewal.
