More good news! We caught the semi-feral female cat we've been feeding today and she's getting spayed!

There's two that were from Cosette's first litter that have been hanging about. I named them Jean Valjean and Fantine.

We've been slowly socializing them and getting them used to people. But getting Fantine spayed was a TOP priority because we just CANNOT go through the drama of more kittens being born and having an entire colony forming.

Dad tried to catch both of them but was only able to get Fantine. But that's okay. Jean Valjean can't get pregnant so we've got a looser timeline with him.

Plus apparently the bill was like $500 at the vet's, so taking two in at once would have been crazy expensive!

YESSS finally!

And pictures of them! These are from when Cosette was still with us. Jean Valjean is on left with the black nose and Fantine on the right with the pink nose.

Fantine looks identical to her mom, it's ridiculous. Jean Valjean was such a momma's boy though. If Cosette wanted to eat from his dish or sleep in his carrier, he just let her without question despite the fact he's much bigger than she is. She was just like "I am your MOTHER and you WILL respect me!"

I'm glad you caught her! We're still trying to catch the one who gave birth to our trio and she's just not having it.

witch people : We got SUPER lucky that Cosette was just a stray rather than feral or we never would have found her second litter. She understood instinctively that we wanted to help her, so when they were old enough, she brought them out to show us them.

And we know Fantine would be too scared to show us any litter she had, so we're nipping this problem in the bud.

Year of the Cat : Yay that is great!!!

The vet says she was about to go into heat TOMORROW. We got her in to be spayed just in time!

Jean Valjean knows she's in the garage and doesn't understand why he can't see his sister. So he's sticking close to the house just in case.

Meanwhile, Loki knows something is up and is mad we won't let him into the garage to investigate Fantine. He knows we're keeping something from him.

This is a wonderful early Christmas present for us all. Now we can stop worrying about a cat colony forming in our neighborhood. The line stops with these last two.

Fantine spent the night in the garage and is now back outside with her brother. All went well!

We'll get around to neutering Jean Valjean but we're gonna wait on that till we have a bit more money and aren't too stressed about it. Maybe in like six months after he's a little more socialized.
