So Google's announced that they're moving forward with phasing out Manifest v2 apps and only allowing Manifest v3 for Chrome in a hard cutoff point of June. This means that anything that ain't updated ain't working.
Platinum
They're also pushing that adblockers violate YouTube terms of use.
Platinum
Their little presentation on the changes to Chrome/Chromium programming is very clear that they're allowing adblockers, but the ones they're showing are the ones that purposefully allow certain sites to bypass the adblocking features. (Adblock, Adblock Plus, idk about Windscribe or Ghostery or AdBlock Max.)

They're now highlighting ones that very specifically work on YouTube in their presentation, but I wouldn't hold my breath on those working.
Platinum
They're phrasing it as, like... They're gonna allow all adblockers and such.
Platinum
But digging in a bit, they're changing the kinds of block requests that adblockers like uBlock Origin uses.
Platinum
And limiting the number of custom filters any given adblocker can have.
Platinum
(Manifest v3 will only allow adblockers to have 5,000 custom filters.)

Lol

I'm just like wow how sad google, what if you focused on making products that work and don't suck instead
Platinum
maybe if they hadn't allowed ads that autoinstalled malware, adblocking wouldn't be so prevalent

I shall gladly shelter in the safety of Firefox.
