[work] People got me pressed, lol
amyorama.
A character's name was mistranslated. We missed it because we don't read the language ourselves and the licensor didn't point it out or give us a guide. This does not affect the story.
amyorama.
Somebody pointed this out relatively politely. A couple other people have pointed it out very rudely. The former's... you're kinda a busybody, but okay. The latter gets me steamed, lol.

I hope those people notice the milk is off just after they've poured it in the last of their cereal.

Babe, I can't magically destroy thousands of books for reprint. It's getting corrected if we get a second print run. Until then, oh well!
amyorama.
It really feels like, and I know this is uncharitable, but people must know how logistically impossible corrections in a run of books already in circulation is. You just wanna tell someone that you're the smartest person in the room, and it's obnoxious.
amyorama.
I find mistakes while I'm reading ALL THE TIME. I don't feel the need to email anyone about it.
amyorama.
That's all. Just me being irritated with someone who has too much time on their hands. I'm glad to know so we can correct it if we go back to print, but be understanding about it. C'mon.

oh, but they're very good at noticing things, so. Probably not!

this person has now started (before christmas) a whole twitter campaign against us based on assumptions made from services we rendered from the third party, and it's just not worth Making A Statement about for various, complex reasons, but god I wish they'd just get bored and go do something else.

There is actual fucking evil happening in the world. Please go spend your activism energy on that and not "the money guys decided to spend less money to make a book".

I've also just had it confirmed that this person is completely wrong regarding the nature of their grievance but it still probably doesn't benefit us to engage.
