Knowing you've only played one type, but conceptually, do you think mass-ex/danganlike or scapegoat/mafia works better for you?

Danganlike makes things very clear. I’d imagine that mafia style would be more stressful without trials being “validated” by the mods after each round.

favorite CR from Parasomnia?

Conchita. Hands down. Breaking through to seeing her as human was a compelling arc both in the context of Parasomnia and to the themes of KC’s canon. Plus the player for Conchita was a genius.
