作者除了很會寫跩妙的感情線以外，配角的塑造也非常精彩，榮恩對家庭的付出、哈利的諒解、金妮的童年創傷，甚至麥教授對學生的關心等等。我覺得這些配角讓這個故事變得更加豐富，讀者也能感受到戰後這些被留下來的人都深受痛苦，他們對跩妙的戀愛關係也會有不同的想法。但因為作者把配角的視點也放進來，所以我能同理故事角色的心情，而不只是單純覺得作者想在跩妙的感情線上設置老套的障礙
