[Portland weekend]

drove for five hours and although we made good time and it was fine, we got into the Airbnb and immediately left for the big family dinner

which was really lovely and delicious but loud and crowded

my cousin is marrying a Hawaiian guy and it was his family’s restaurant so the food was off the fucking chain but I was so dizzy and tired from driving all day it was hard to enjoy it maximally

I had a migraine imminent and when we got back I had to go to bed at like nine to stave it off

failed to fall asleep for hours and then Callen started losing his entire mind (clarity of daytime makes me think his top teeth are coming in finally)

so I was just like well I am resigned to living in hell

but everyone eventually went to sleep and we’re fine. Then we got up and tried to go to a restaurant with fam but there wasn’t enough room and they weren’t celiac friendly so Chris and I had to take Callen back out in the RAIN to find a coffee shop where he could have food

I was a little homicidal at this point

like I am tired of shouting over crowded rooms of people about celiac accommodations while also trying to find a place for my baby to hang out where he won’t get completely overstimulated. I want to hang out with my family and am being stymied at every turn

but we went to a little cafe where a guy was extremely nice and made Chris a GF breakfast sandwich with completely separate prep spaces (not something they usually offer. He got a $15 tip) and we are back and Callen is napping and we have Peace

tonight for the wedding there’s a sitter who’ll be watching Callen and we can just fuck off and enjoy ourselves a bit. And Chris is going to help me drive tomorrow. No more migraines

and we’re about to go hang out with beka and zee pretty soon so that’s exciting!!!!
