Since Isayama supervised and wanted to adjust some scenes compared to the manga, I guess the anime is like his ideal version of the ending

I will say that the anime version is a lot better to digest since the manga was mostly fight scenes that dragged on for a while

the whole final conversation between Eren and Armin is slightly different compared to the manga (which was like three pages) and I actually like it much better in the anime

Isayama spent a lot of time mulling over the ending since even he knew that people wouldn't like it, so the anime is like the Director's Cut of how he wanted it to go
