Night night. If you can see the eastern sky, Jupiter is as close to the Earth as it can be. Nearby are the star cluster Pleiades and the constellation Aries.

East is looking towards DFW and Dallas. Best for me to be higher in the sky. I can usually see Pleiades easily naked eye, but not rising.

JingleBob™ : Those big cities are all about light. And nice that you can see Pleiades. They seem special.

When I was a kid, visiting my grandad's farm, the Milky Way was bright. And I remember my Mom pointing and saying "that's the seven sisters".

Good Morning by now, mimpal. Went to bed early and stayed! Thanks for the EarthSky references. We're fogged in so much here that over the weekend I saw Jupiter and couldn't identify it off the top of my head!
