1. So if he meets Nate while he's still mostly doing things other than murder, he's probably either just broken up with or still with Kat. Either one I'm here for honestly, because he'll be awkward about it in completely different ways than usual, but oh BOY will he feel guilty if he's interested in Leo as quickly as usual and Kat's still around.

2. Although this meeting probably starts with a lot of skeptical looks that quickly turn into interest instead if Leo ends up being good at it. Look, skill is a turn on

3. Leo tends to bring out a side in Nate that's a lot lighter and more playful than what most people get from him, which would be interesting if they had people around he was used to working with. Just trying to stone-face his way through jobs as normal and then Leo comes around and gets him smiling and even he's kind of baffled by it.

4. The first time Leo gets hurt on a job after Nate gets attached, whoever did it dies immediately. Is this smart? Probably not! Is it happening anyway? Definitely yes.

5. In general, there's going to be a lot less hesitance if Leo's into a more similar kind of life than he is. He will probably know that Nate's dangerous very quickly, and generally he's going to feel less like he might corrupt him terribly.

On the other hand, I could actually see that hitting out of the blue a lot later if he realizes Leo still has a lot higher morals than he has and tries to figure out why he bothered to stick around in the first place and just -- quietly withdraws for a little while to be confused.

Yeah, that makes sense. At some point Nate probably offers to try and help him but he doesn't have nearly as much money at this point, so it's more like "attempt to kill and/or blackmail the people you owe to get you out of it" than "pay it off completely"

that tracks -- I kind of assume that there's enough supernatural stuff going on around that he's probably done a good few jobs that are involving low-level supernatural shit without being aware of it, or hired by something nonhuman who just doesn't feel like bothering themselves.
