it's more the cold because it's currently quite damp in here but, yes, my skin is intrinsically dry.

allergic to nearly everything and they no longer make the cream formulation to which I wasn't allergic.

eventually have to go through the (very literal) pain of trying a bunch of alternative products. Making my own would also be dangerous.

yes i wouldn't start making your own.

hasn't a pharmacy the opportunity to help you find a creme with the same ingredients..? wish you luck with it..
