Every armchair detective in the country is stomping through the comment sections of every article, tweet, and Facebook post from affected locals. 90% of Halloween activities, like Trunk or Treat, have been canceled in abundance of caution and/or out of respect for the victims and their families.

They're dredging the river right now, probably hoping to find his body. It's unusual that they haven't found him alive or dead, but this is Maine. It's easy to hide.

I think he's dead in the woods with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and he's been decomposing since Wednesday night, but if I had children, I wouldn't be letting them leave the house without me. Most schools have agreed and they've kept kids home this week.
