season 1 is good but a little rough around the edges. the humor is kinda reddit but thankfully it (mostly) grows out of it soon. i cried twice. lol. once when snowball sacrificed his kingdom to save mortys life and again when human surgeon beth and movie star jerry reunited in the interdimensional cable episode

ricks characterization feels all over the place knowing what i do from recent seasons but maybe i just need to refresh my memory

justin roiland was never that good at improv the jokes are funny maybe half the time on a good day and theres so much damn stuttering in the early seasons jesus christ its so annoying

i know how this sounds but pickle rick is actually one of the best episodes in the series Lol

rick and jerry episodes r my favorite i love rick and jerry friendship....

even though they hate each other... but love each other... i die..

season five is such an absurd dip in quality i cannot even begin to fathom what the writers were thinking

they start with the stupid self referential bullshit in season 4 but its reined in just enough to still be enjoyable but by the end of season 5 its so overwhelming it sucks the enjoyment out of the whole thing. ricks aversion to revealing his 'canonical backstory' gets old real fast and gthen they just dump it all on u in one scene like????

some of the developments are good like. i like space beth. but why did they turn ricks genuine concern for mortys wellbeing into some psycho revenge plot bullshit

and its so sad because the first few episodes of season 5 are peak but it immediately devolves into annoying nonsense. the season 3 opener was clearly born out of passion whereas the season 5 closer was clearly born out of obligation. its a slog. i havent rewatched s6 yet but i dont remember it improving things much

actually season six is really good ive been enjoying it a lot. rick and morty minus the portal gun is a great mixup. also beth selfcest is so insane and funny (and perfectly in character)
