1: Favorite thing about writing the character? The sheer intensity, I think - he's so passionate in his convictions and his emotions and it's so fun to get swept up into it as I write him. (A lot like writing Twelve, actually, except Zerxus is less playful and more obviously melancholy)

I also really enjoy playing with his magic - how it manifests (Luis and Brennan's descriptions of it are SO COOL) and how it translates into RP and how it informs his character

2: Favorite thing about the character's appearance? I mean, there's the horns. Horns are just cool, it's not my fault. But also the little braid in his beard, which is hands down the fussiest thing about his appearance and I find it very endearing

Also the streaks of gray in his hair. This 37 year old is so stressed

6: Least favorite ship for the character? I don't have any really? The vast majority of shippy fic that exists is Zerxus/Evandrin or Zerxus/Asmodeus and you know, I'm very down for either of those

There's also some poly Ring of Brass which I can totally see, at least pre-losing Evandrin, though I don't see him as bisexual (and most fic has him only like, cuddling with Patia or Laerryn and it's kind of adorable honestly)

9: Funniest thing that’s ever happened to your character? Well it definitely involved either Nydas or Quay, and none of them have ever lived it down

Definitely early on in Avalir he was peak Fish Out Of Water and just stumbling into every conceivable awkward situation

and this was not helped by the fact that all of his husband's friends are assholes

15: What do you see in your character's future? In canon, BAD BAD IT'S ALL BAD

He's going to fight in the Calamity and hate every second of it, he's going to keep trying and failing to make Asmodeus see reason, he's going to love him anyway and also hate him, he's going to miss his husband and son desperately

On the Barge, at least, he gets a bit of a reprieve and he can be more constructive. Whenever I DO canon update him, he'll come back when he needs that the most, and that perspective will inform his wardening in ways that could definitely help certain people

And in turn I think the Barge will help his approach to Asmodeus. Not enough to majorly change him, at least in the span of canon time (.....over a thousand years), but.

Maybe a LITTLE more progress than he otherwise would have had. Which of course just makes him more stubborn about it.

19: What’s a situation you’ve always wanted to RP with the character? Oh man he's still so new so there's a BIG WIDE WORLD of stuff I haven't got to do yet but

OH another thing I really enjoy about playing him is this just, amazing blend of "competent and charismatic leader of some of the most powerful knights in the world" and "painfully awkward loner who can barely stand walking into a room and getting attention"
