I disconnected all of them (7 in total) the fun one is in the primary bedroom which has vaulted ceiling and needed my very tall stepladder to get up to it.
My guess is that some dust triggered one which triggered all. now to go get a can of compressed air and clean them all out. I used up my last can so I have to get more.
Rule of thumb is to check them twice per year when the clocks are changed. I know yours are hardwired but that’s when they say to replace the batteries. Also your local FD might send someone out to check them for you. They do that in some areas. Especially if you need a taller ladder. Why do when you can have it done.

: That is a great idea, but my wife does not like strangers in the house and I already check the batteries, but now will add blasting them with compressed air.
I checked the date and they were probably installed just before we bought the house, which means these are good till the end of 2025, the manufacture date is December 5, 2014, we bought in 2015. So I have a few years before I have to replace them.
Get to run over to the very close Ace hardware store and get a can of compressed air and blow all of these out before I put them back. This should show me which one had the dust issue.
Wow, get some ear plugs to have ready if it ever happens again. Hopefully, it won't, but you will save your ears and wife's from the noise those make. So darn loud.
law states one per bedroom and one in the hallway. 3 primary bedrooms, the bonus room can be a bedroom, so it gets one, my office can be a bedroom so it gets one. Then upstairs hall, and downstairs in the living room space.
Firemen aren’t strangers. Especially when you need them most. It’s good to get to know them. Maybe speak with her about it. She might reconsider. I don’t like strangers in my home either so I get it but some things are more important. Also, I don’t have any in my house. I know I should get them too. Just haven’t. There is a CO2 one by the boiler.
