Frie's been confessed to a bunch and always turns people down so Ame's worried the same's gonna happen with him but fuck it he's doing it anyway because he's given Frie so many hints over the last few years and Frie hasn't picked up on them at all

Oh if it's child prodigy Ame, then Frie is one of the few people who will call him out on his bullshit (if Ame is arrogant or sth because of how much better he is than everyone). He doesn't like Ame's misplaced shitty pride.

And yeah Frie is popular bc he has such a nice personality and him and Ame both hated each other at first but Ame eventually falls for him and figures Frie will never like him back (especially if he was arrogant before and insulted Frie or something).

Frie is off doing his own thing but it works for him because he doesn't think he is above others. He is pretty smart too (and can challenge Ame intellectually) but it doesn't stop him from befriending others etc.

And Ame will fall for such a Frie, who was the only person who called him out on his attitude but didn't give up on him either way..

I love that even canonically FrieAme are pretty evenly matched intellectually despite the age gap! Like, yeah, Frie's probably still a bit smarter but considering everything Ame could most likely hold his own against Frie in a Pokemon trivia context or something lmao (Though imo Spi is about as smart in Frie, he just uses his smarts for evil)

(This is why Ame needs to become Frie's assistant in canon)
I do think Frie is more knowledgeable in general given that being a professor was literally his job but Ame and Spi are both pretty observant too

Frie being (maybe) the smartest character in the show is so good...

The thought that in this AU setting, Ame feels frustrated because Frie is the only one who beats him academically-

Also I absolutely want assistant Ame canonically, it'd work so well.. (Ame getting annoyed that Frie's files are so disorganised and he doesn't believe that Frie magically knows where everything is)

Frie being the smartest character in the show (when it comes to 'mon, but also generally being observant, analytical etc) makes me feral tbh, everything about Frie is so good. I love that at first glance, he appears to be laidback, but the fact that he is just genuinely so competent is so... ahhh. Thank you for making a character with so many sides-

Assistant Ame would work so well because Ame also has an innate curiosity, at least about the mystery of the pendant. The fact that he is also trying to solve it... maybe join Frie? What do you say about it, Ame?

(and Ame being the one to force Frie to be more organized is so cute... "stop overworking me, professor, don't you feel guilty about it")

Lucca meeting assistant Ame and going "Wow you picked up a cute lil' helper didn't you? Sorry about him, you can blame his faults on me" and Ame not knowing whether she's insulting him or not (he doesn't know how to act around adult women)

I feel like Lucca would intimidate Ame somehow haha (Diana wouldn't because she's older, but Lucca's still young enough that Ame would be kinda awkward around her...)

And Frie can't even deny her when she calls Ame cute because yes, he is cute-
