Hazard Kitten
Welp, now I have D&D brainrot
Hazard Kitten
Now I want a D&D-based game and AU all my characters into it
moontouched
:3
NekoInc, MSPM
I've developed ideas along this seed before a bit but
Hazard Kitten
I've done it before but bg3 is masterfully brainrot, so gonna do some rambling
Hazard Kitten
Harlock I initially consider him a Swashbuckler, but playing bg3 I'm increasingly coming around to Swordbard, a bardic pirate captain (either in Spelljammer or Faerun as seen) - when it comes to gods, in Faerun he only really considers Umberlee out of strict necessity of the profession of a pirate and Tymora
Hazard Kitten
otherwise he's very CG and otherwise very 'fuck the gods and kings' (aside, Tochiro would be a gnomish Artificer and much more devout to Gond - the two never are never far apart)
Hazard Kitten
Soma is definitely a Ravenloft escapee, he wasn't born in the Demi-plane, but ended up getting dragged there by the dark powers, ends up getting turned (either like in the Astarion au I think moontouched was saying by Strahd or another very powerful vampire), class Sorcerer (Shadow magic or Lunar) or an Undead Patron Warlock
Hazard Kitten
welp, now I'm at the point of having to pick between Gale and Astarion
Hazard Kitten
anyways, Soma would definitely be on the run from his creator and perhaps the Dark Powers themselves, because there's just something odd about him that makes him appealing (as a potential Darklord
ღ zipper noises
ooooooh
Hazard Kitten
yeah, Soma I'm leaning for Undead Patron Warlock - his sire being a very old powerful vampire and the patron just 'hmm boy got potential for magic'
Hazard Kitten
Ky would either be an Eldritch Knight in abilities and part of a holy order, or a Paladin of Devotion or Crown, and going over his character arc probably starts worshipping Helm primarily (and other of the knightly/protector gods as let the people be actually polytheist in a polytheist setting) but evolves to Torm as his primary patron god
NekoInc, MSPM
Planescape would work. And if we're thinking a freer form RP, let people have BS. Mix 3e and 5e, it barely matters, etc etc
Hazard Kitten
from hidebound duty to compassion and mercy
Hazard Kitten
NekoInc, MSPM honestly using the rules as guidelines is probably best
Hazard Kitten
re: Harlock, Umberlee in FR is entirely 'Fine there's your pound of flesh so you don't sink my ship and kill my crew' and Tymora is about the only god he remotely respects - he Detests how much power gods wield over people and is extremely wary of anyone trying to be a god even if they're doing it for good reasons
Hazard Kitten
(and Valkur being one of the other few he is Fine with)
Hazard Kitten
Harlock's human (with Pirate in FR or Astral Drifter in SJ), Soma was human or half-elf with Haunted One, and Ky is an Elf (Why is he worshipping human gods? He didn't grow up in an elven stronghold) with a soldier background
Hazard Kitten
Sherlock Rogue of the Investigate subclass, Investigator background, half-elf, generally gives lip service to knowledge gods much like how he makes sure to pay the rent to Mrs. Hudson, constantly in danger of cursing himself by nosing around artefacts and exposing secret fiends and doppelgangers in society. Nobody knows how he isn't dead yet.
Hazard Kitten
Snufkin lightfoot Halfling Fey Wanderer Ranger with the Outlander background, the equivalent of Moominvalley is a demi-plane that edges the Feywild that opens seasonally - he's the helpful guy who gives random adventurers supplies, or heard of an odd rumor, but he also makes sure nobody else stumbles onto Moominvalley's portal to protect the residents
Hazard Kitten
(his fey wanderer quirk is flowers grow in his hair every morning)
