I worked in enterprise IT, where we kept customer systems up and running 24/7. a single computer going down or offline was a huge event, usually solved in a matter of hours, and still often considered something of a failure.

I really do not want another government shutdown.

It bothers me in a lot of ways. But I am very much disturbed and disappointed that there are little to no consequences for the people making it happen.

Several members of Congress have floated bills to add some degree of consequences, although to my mind they don't go nearly far enough.

But even these half hearted measures won't go anywhere because the vast majority of entitled narcissists will never tolerate the idea that they take responsibility for their actions.
