I still suspect it was intentional, just so he could get a few more laps out of his "the left is unreasonably mean to poor little old me who has done nothing wrong ever in my life" act, but at the same time he's also trying to claim there were more supporters than counterprotesters

Which is ridiculously fucking stupid, given the demographics.

Even the Republicans on that campus aren't as far right as usual. At least not the majority. There was definitely that one weird little splinter group that even they despised.

The one that got outright forced off campus and had to find someplace else to set up their little clubhouse because even the official Republican student group couldn't stand them.

I think it was either my last year or second to last year there that they had a little event on 9/11 (though "event" is used loosely, it was just one of those collapsible tables, little American flags, and politicking) and apparently none of them knew how to read a weather forecast because they set it up on a day expecting rain

Why is this

so when the completely expected happened they moved it inside and set up without permission right in the busiest walkway in the student union, between the Starbucks and the cafeteria

then screamed bloody fucking murder when they were told they needed to move it further up the hall and out of the way

Lmao I now go to grad school at a uni where we get angry psycho preachers out front of the humanities college on the regular so 🥲

We got those once, my sophomore year there

They got outright driven off of campus

They thought it was an A++ good idea to aggressively run down students to tell them how they were totally going to hell and were varying levels of abominable sinners and an affront to god.

Especially the Jewish ones. That went well.

My run in with them involved him running up to me and launching into the full speech, I told him I was baptist and he was wasting his time, and the dude flat out did not know what that was

Like they were a very unique kind of stupid and aggressive

He outright asked "So you think he'll keep you out of hell???" and was just completely fucking oblivious and went right past "your flavor of christianity is wrong" and into thinking it was some whole other thing
