[RL][Accessibility][Mute] So I had my stove, oven, and dryer labelled today so that I can use everything more safely.

I also found out I can enroll for cooking and housekeeping classes, focusing on doing it with low vision. This includes more accessible items to use.

I find the idea really helpful and uplifting. My mom subscribes to the school of "You just make it work with what you have" and doesn't see this as reasonable or necessary because the only example I have for accessible cooking items so far is a pot strainer combo.

She feels like despite my vision, I should be able to just do the thing, and can't process something as simple as "If I'm not on point while straining pasta, the strainer tips over in the sink and then the noodles end up in the sink.

yay accessibility! All apologies to your mom, accommodations are a great thing actually and you should absolutely take them.

I plan to start the process when I get home from my trip. I'm excited, just also frustrated.
