[amazon] ???????????????????????

i am so fucking confused

so i ordered a book and its sequel, in separate transactions from separate sellers about a month apart

Book 1 came in June exactly as described with no issues

Book 2 came in August as the wrong edition (i ordered a hardback and received a paperback uncorrected proof)

i put in for a refund/return and submitted seller feedback for Book 2

only to... get an amazon message from the people who sold me Book 1 asking me how they can resolve the issue i had with their book? and then i received a refund for Book 1?

and at first i thought "OH NO i messed up, i submitted the refund request for the wrong book!"

but i looked back through my emails and only did i not do that, the paper trail proves it, my confirmation email about the refund and return request is for Book 2

i would not have been able to mess up in that way on my end, because by the time i was doing all this for Book 2, the return window for Book 1 had already passed!

i managed to contact amazon and speak to an actual person and get the refund for Book 1 reversed, but they were still all "the refund you changed your mind about" about it, when dead to rights i did not make a mistake here

how in the world did this happen

that's bizarre

is this like a ghost kitchen thing but for amazon sellers

before i called i tried to cancel the refund for Book 1 on my own and i couldn't even do that because the refund window closed in july
