Interest Check: The Dulun Campaign, a closed panfandom game where your character will be contacted by a voice in their head, asking if they would like to come and help rebuild a dying world.
Based on a heavily homebrewed D&D campaign by yours truly, The Dulun Campaign takes place on the world of Dulun, a planet recently cured of a biological weapon run rampant. There are very, very few people left in this world, and the people that cured it have all either been sent home, or assigned jobs in the world itself while The Overseer gathers help.
NPC contact will be extremely necessary, at least at first, and everyone will have to have at least a short interaction with The Overseer to be brought into the world. Think of it like a one-on-one interview where YOU have all the power in a situation.
(I need you all to know that I have a 19 page google doc full of world and encounter information so trust me there is a very solid backbone to all of this, I'm just trying to really nail down what to put straight on the mod post)
The great thing about this setting is that you really don't need to know anything about D&D. Yes, the framework of D&D is there, but all that really is is for my own personal This Is How Hard You Got Hit calculations
If you think the ability might fall under this then maybe we can find a way to work around it. My first thought (not knowing the full scope of their abilities obvs) is that it could be used as a very handy fast travel system.
What I think will end up being most fun about all of this is that there's so much possibility. As the world comes back, you can fully lean into slice-of-life just as much as the world's intrigue and adventure
It warms my silly little heart that people are interested in this ;v; Right now, we're just in housekeeping stages, getting our ducks in a row and sorting out a meme comm, an ooc contact space, the various NPCs, Duties pages etc
something fun to note about that latter: as the game expands, players are going to be able to set up businesses and things of their own, if they so choose! Wanna open a bakery? Heck yeah! Wanna open a Monster-Slayer-For-Hire agency? awesome, takes some work off of the Overseer.

Maybe. Or she will start a library.
