Rue
Taking Sasha to the vet.
Rue
The good news is that: she didn't catch Covid from Angie.
Rue
The bad news is that: it's probably some nasty dental issues causing trouble.
(งツ)ง
Oh nooo
(งツ)ง
Hope she’ll be ok
Rue
She'll probably be fine! The issue is more... the bill...
Rue
Today alone was $300, and they didn't even pull any teeth aaaaaa
Rue
We were also given some antibiotics to try and give her when she eats..
Rue
Sorry, Sasha. It's for your own good.
Joe 🦇
Aww, good luck. Getting pets to take pills is so difficult.
Rue
Thank youu... thankfully it's a powder mix, so in theory it might be easier.
Rue
We could technically put it in her food since we already fill that with water anyway, but there's a chance she may not drink all of it and we'll have to dispense it directly.
Rue
Our roommate is so kind, they're offering to help chip in for the bills.
Rue
I'll probably reach out to my folks tomorrow to see if they can also chip in a bit...
Gray
Ah...yeah. Good thing cats don't have too many teeth, at least...
Gray
Only so many things can go wrong, but they can be very expensive. :-D;
Gray
I hope that's the end of the cost this go-around.
Rue
Oh,
Rue
well
Rue
unfortunately I see I did not clarify here, lmao.
Rue
She's going in for surgery on Wednesday to get some teeth removed.
Rue
So...
Rue
Rue
(it is unfortunately very much not the end of the costs)
Gray
Ah.
Gray
...well. At least cats don't have too many teeth. 8D;
Rue
Gray
(Seriously, she'll be able to eat just fine with less teeth. But uh, yeah, not...not cheap, tooth removal.)
Rue
Yeah, we're not too worried about her eating (her main diet is wet food). It's really just the sudden bill taking us out at the kneecaps.
Rue
Today is the day.
Rue
We're enroute to the vet and she's crying.
Rue
me, bodily putting myself between sasha and a dog that's too excited
Rue
We'll get her back around 3pm.
Gray
Yeah, that does sound like a cat. Be brave, Sasha.
Rue
Well.
Rue
Good news: Her molars are actually quite good! They're not being removed.
Rue
The bad news: She's got mysterious lesions along the front of her mouth, so we're being referred to a specialist to have them looked at.
Rue
It could be as minor as some sort of bacterial infection.
Rue
The worst case scenario is that it could be cancer.
Rue
So... well.
Rue
We're taking it step by step.
Rue
We'll see how she reacts to the antibiotics for a bit and look into the specialist when able.
Rue
She's apparently quite healthy otherwise, so I'm hoping it's not the worst case scenario.
Rue
But we'll see.
Gray
Hey, hoping for the best for her.
Rue
Thank you.
