Boobies squished and done for the next three years! Now to wait about 2 weeks for the results. The lady doing it was nice. She also noticed that I had lost a lot of weight because my boobs had to be repositioned from last time. (3 years ago) I told her I lost 25kg and my husband. She understood.
They’re really quick here. You enter the mobile truck to a reception desk and waiting chairs plus three doors with red lights above them. (Kinda like a game show. LOL) They call you into a tiny dressing room (I got room 2) where you take your top off and leave your stuff. Then the tech takes you out the other side into the scanning room.
She knows what she’s doing and adjusts your “bread dough” then tells you to hold still. Four images in all. Very quickly. Then you go back in the changing room, get dressed and back to the front room. Then she comes to say if the images are ok and off you go.
Yeah I still don't look forward to them, after several, but they are not the traumatic experience I had built them up to, for sure. Same with colonoscopies. Wish I never had to do one again, but the three I've had were not NEARLY as horrific as I imagined they'd be.

: funny thing I was at my doctor yesterday and mentioned the boobie bus visit as a heads up and he said it’s unfortunate there isn’t a male version. I told him to put his balls in a vice grip and clamp it down. That should be close. We always have the most “interesting” conversations. LOL

: I guess I could if I wanted too. The government sends out invitations to those over 50. They send those out every three years and the mobile truck comes around. Mine are usually fine and I’m not in a high risk category for boob cancer so I guess every 3 years is good enough for me.
I guess they recognize that early intervention and/or treatment is cheaper than waiting. Which is true. Lots of focus on preventative care that I’ve noticed.

: They don't knock me out either, but they make the pain less memorable? Like I know it hurt like hell when he hit that corner, but as soon as he was past that, it was easy to relax and quit thinking about it.

: I did not relax, it wasn’t less memorable either. I kept looking at the nurse in the eyes and visually saying....I’m still awake, you realize that right? (My Dutch wasn’t so good back then.) I’m just glad it’s over and hopefully I won’t need another.

: Yeah it definitely sounds like the meds didn't work for you at all. I hope you don't need another one too, but I think they are kind of routine after a certain age. Maybe you can talk to them about how ineffectual the meds were if it comes up again. I have them every two years for ulcerative colitis, but I know my older relatives
get them for no particular reason other than cancer screening, which I think is important. Colon cancer just isn't symptomatic till it's too late, so you want to catch it with screening. I hope there's something they can do to make it better so you aren't unwilling to do them.
Renee Harvy
: they do the colon cancer screening via poop. I think it’s every 3-5 years. I’ve had it twice now I think. Just poop on a stick and then mail it back. LOL
