Stocks are higher Monday as Wall Street comes off a losing week and turns its attention to U.S. inflation and how the data will influence the Federal Reserve's path on interest rates.
The Dow was up 421 points, or 1.2%, shortly after 2 p.m. ET and later drifted lower. The S&P 500 was up 0.8%, while the Nasdaq Composite was lagging behind with a gain of 0.4%.
