and every single one of them has been convinced that they are going to give me The Makeover that wins me over and makes me see the light and turns me into a convert
every single one of them has gone conservative. figuring that because i don't wear makeup regularly they need to ease me into it and give me a look that's very "pretty much just like my normal face, but more sophisticated"
i let donna fuck around with eyeshadow on me a few days ago, but warned her that i was going to get the brightest, most garish color i could find for cheap at the drugstore, something that she would really hate and never let near her own face; none of this ~neutral tones bullshit
so i spent the day with sparkly blue eyeshadow on, and it was great, and that is the story of how i was convinced for the first time to go out and buy makeup to use regularly
i'm not very good at applying it myself, low-key i don't really... care; being polished is just not a major concern for me (see also: the insides of my eyebrows sticking up every which way)
i do have some more neutral palettes just in case i feel like being boring, but why would i want that when wearing the most colorful glitter i can is way more fun
no chocolate and no vanilla but you're getting samples of everything else; anything you sniff/try and don't want i'll just take back home (or offer to someone else if they want it)
i'm very torn on some of the darker shades "too bright/glittery" is not something i care about, but i don't like the look of "too dark", and sometimes something i love the look of in sunlight makes me look like a raccoon in low light or artificial light
juvia's place is my favorite brand so far; it's a POC-owned company who gears their stuff towards darker skintones, which also works for my purposes because so much of it is bright and loud
donna's repeated dramatic laments that she's created a monster started out funny but are quickly becoming mildly annoying, mostly because she's only half-joking; i am well aware that she thinks heavy colorful sparkly eye makeup is ~tacky, but why should she give a fuck if they're not her eyes
she's trying to protect me from being judged or w/e but i'm of the firm belief that 1) most people do not care, and 2) if someone does care it's actually not their business
i don't think plucked eyebrows or very short haircuts look good on women. my opinion means, and should mean, nothing to people who pluck their eyebrows and women who cut their hair very short
i am absolutely sure there are people i've met who feel my eye makeup is not to their tastes. that's fine! if they literally judge me for it that's both pretty dumb and also not my problem
well SOMETHING made my skin start to burn a little (not immediately, but after 4-5 hours) but i was wearing three different products at once so i have no idea what it was lmao
I'm allergic to a lot of lipsticks and liquid eye liners, and even if you don't have a full on allergy, I want to check for the ingredient in case you have a more mild sensitivity
if it's an allergy thing i suspect the latter more than the former, because i have worn them both before but i've worn the l'oreal a ton more and never had any issues whatsoever
i've been assuming it was either a weird reaction to both of them together, and/or just needing to give my eyelid skin a bit of a break because i really went from 0 to 100 on slathering crap on them
(which, btw, if you find wool itchy at all, watch out for lanolin in your lip and liquid eye makeup. I am straight up allergic to it, but some people have more mild sensitivities.)
but noted about the lanolin! i haven't been looking at ingredients at all tbh, which is probably a poor habit to have, but in my entire life i've only had one single minor reaction that i suspect was an allergy, and it was to a metal
every makeup enthusiast i've ever met irl:
even my version of neutral is gold, because fuck skin tone eye shadow
1. were any of them liquid products?
2. if so, what?
