scratch is dragging alan to karaoke on friday night, and alan's going to be spending a lot of time at the libraries (at the college and not) researching about the world
I enjoy the idea of Cal being vaguely menaced by Scratch or at least v annoyed by him in the arrival log to. Ending up at karaoke with the both of them
Cal trying to set out to be responsible but i feel like it’s been awhile since he’s had a boy's night or even drank considering the cocktail of drugs he’s been on before he arrived
I’m like...obsessed with the idea before they start changing where Cal can’t tell which one of his neighbors is the evil one and he’s just like oh well what can you do
Cal is a polite Midwestern boy he will be knocking on the door when he’s going out like...hey do you need anything? (and he can’t tell who’s asking for bleach)
looking over the event log and reading things and thinking i wanna do at least one "torment alan with the (phantom or otherwise) transformation sensations" prompt, but idk who would be down for threading against that other than vin lol
alright so trying to get my head on for how i wanna tackle Alan's top-level: i noticed a lot of tanabata top levels were like my character is here, here, and here with relevant flavor text, but then arrivals log was mostly "behold my shenanigans scenario with hooks"
so my question is, b/c I do want Alan's no sleep/social combo to throw him into being More Outside Than Usual, would it be a good idea to do a mix of these two concepts? some man about town flavor for things but also specific hooks as well for ppl who prefer them?
my other thought about this is that if i do "he is in these locations" plus flavortext and people want more to go off of but are like "this location and ghosts or frankenfogwomen pls" in a response I can then subsequently write a bespoke starter off that if people want idk
on an other OTHER note, akin sort-of to how I did things for Alan's test drive prompts, i have been known to be like "this is the prompt but here are two diff choose-your-own-adventure style hooks ooooooOOOOOooooo" and tbh in all the times I have done this in rp i have never been sure if it's fun for ppl
the most recent example i can find of the choose-your-own-adventure style thing in play is this old tdm i did over yonder in case anyone is curious about how that looks in action
anywho runebranded ty for the feedback! I'll probably do a mix of these since i like the opportunity for variety and esp with certain prompts, doing the cyoa stuff means you can kinda make the "five ppl have responded to this" paradox a little less paradoxical
i actually had considered doing werewolf/pooka at one point to just make alan insufferably social but there were concepts from the nephilim side that were just too fun
monster mash top level will be a later today thing after tackling stuff in my inbox. think I'm gonna get some sleep and try to get up a lil earlier than i did today
working on my top level for this and I am seriously considering, despite what i said, also giving alan plasma magic for one reason and one reason only:
Also runebranded I didn't write up a community center thing in the end b/c if mercy was going there for refuge from the sun she'd probs wanna be in one of the darker rooms and alan would not be jiving with that for a few diff reasons
