I'm fascinated by how I suspect gibdo physiology now is that they're just bugs that happen to be in a human shape, not human corpses or whatever

I think that might even have been the first time I was in the depths, very early game. ...I just had a stalhorse and didn't want to let go of it so I went on a scary horsey ride VERY far

one of the stables asks to see a stalhorse so there are definitely some on the surface....somewhere

If you follow the road north from the stable where that guy is at you'll eventually find them in some ruins at night
