I've avoided being tempted by using ThredUp for years now but I've finally gotten sucked into it once I figure out how to actually sort of see stuff I want, sort of
meatdisaster
Like, for YEARS now, every time I see an ad for it in a Youtube video sponsorship, I'll be tempted to check it out. and EVERY TIME I've been disappointed at how difficult it seems to be to find something I'm interested in. Basically, I think if you don't have brands in mind, shopping blindly can land you staring at a bunch of mediocre clothes
meatdisaster
and another annoying thing is that they only sell clothes for "Women, Girls, and Boys" and there are no men's clothes. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. DO MEN'S USED CLOTHES HAVE COOTIES? LIKE C"MON.
meatdisaster
Every time I've tried looking for stuff and it was just all too feminine. and even when I tried to look at brands that I know how more androgynous stuff or just see a brand that has both men and women's stuff, there's just only the women's shirts and jackets, folding the women's way, or if there's a brand that should have stuff, there's not much if at all
meatdisaster
So I'd always be like mad at ThredUp for not having more options that are masculine leaning.
meatdisaster
however, after many times of visiting and then leaving disgruntled, I've sort of been getting SLIGHTLY more targeted ThredUp instagram ads that will show me more interesting items on the website in the ads and I'll click through and kinda get a better sense of brands and how I can use the filters and stuff to SORT of find things
meatdisaster
still not perfect but I'm finding some things
meatdisaster
Then I was like "aha, maybe I can use ThredUp to look for used shoes!" Cuz i want a pair of black loafers for my wedding outfit and I think it'd be nice to get them second hand cuz I don't wanna spend too much on shoes
meatdisaster
and I have bought a handful of black loafers for a very good price and I get to try them all on without breaking the bank. Any that I don't like I'll return or rehome.
meatdisaster
And this has now gotten me giving in and downloading the app because navigating the browser site was slow and annoying as fuck
meatdisaster
and now that I kinda understand how to use it (and also cuz the app is easier to use by a bit) I'm kinda sucked into it
meatdisaster
I'm not trying to look for second hand belts. this is a great idea
meatdisaster
saves me a bunch of money on accessories that I've always wanted for my wardrobe but wouldn't spend money on to buy new
meatdisaster
I'm NOW* trying to look for second hand belts
