How I Screencap! I wrote this up since I've been asked a few times. As noted here, this is ONLY HOW I DO IT. Everyone does it their own way.

It's me rambling a lot, if something doesn't make sense feel free to ask me lol. Since I did get started capping for IJ some of the ways I do things come from that mentality, I changed things when I came over to DW.

There is a method to my madness, basically. Not sure how useful this is but I wanted to write it anyway. Feel free to ask questions.

I do not! I do it manually!

It's all because sorting through like 30k caps made me want to die so I prefer individual faces.

Also because it lets me rewind if I didn't feel I got the face right or in the middle of action to make sure I got what I wanted.

yeah sorting really kills me

but when I'm manually capping, i still end up taking way too many caps while I'm obsessively trying to capture every single nuanced expression

How do you stop yourself from taking 45615 caps in like 30s of footage?

I make sure I get the expression I want, sometimes like triple tap that moment, and then move on. I actually cut down if I have like 50 caps of the same exact expression, I'll go down to 15-20. It's just to keep myself sane lol.

I usually end up with like 4-5k caps of each face in the end and then I whittle that down.

Obviously it's not ideal to everyone, I fully encourage people to cap on their own if they'd like it differently, but this is just how I keep myself organized and sane. AND ALSO because I have only so much space. sobs. I'm already running out again for the THIRD TIME.

I wish I could make it look prettier lol but I am a capper, friends, not someone who can make pretty things, just cap the pretty things.

I really miss RARBG Torrents , films , download my life is over without them (they closed)

I'm not going to post this in public but the torrenting sites I use are: Kickass Torrents, EZTV, and the Pirate Bay. I do actually look at all three to make sure I have the best file in my opinion.

I always get 720p but each episode should be over 1 gb or right around 1 gb for an hour, any lower and it's much worse quality. This is sometimes why I wait longer for a higher equality torrent then what comes up right away. I get nitpicky.

There are some people who make incredible icons with camrips (I'm looking at malagraphic) and I bow to them, but I wait for the streaming.

I don't take requests officially anymore because I like to know what I'm watching and people were asking me for things but no icons were ever being made and it was taking up space. Pretty much everything I cap is usually something I'm already enjoying, I'll admit it.

I will say capping individual faces makes it very fast to jump around, so I never feel like I'm overly wasting time or I have to watch the same thing a billion times, it's nice to see it from all points of view and it really isn't that long when you cut down to one at a time.

I definitely would not enjoy capping if I just auto capped and sorted later because i HATE SORTING more than anything lol. Luckily once I finish a set, I usually listen to something while sorting and that makes it easier.

I definitely do not have the patience to cap manually, I let autocap run through the show and I don't sort either, I icon as I arrow through all the caps, so you are doing us a big service to be honest!

I have been capping Jedi Survivor on my Xbox run because I don't have the patience to sort either and I want pretty photo mode shots. Time consuming, yes, but I don't have to sort!!!
