[Neopets] I saw someone on tumblr make a compilation of thumbnails for various old Neopian Times comics and saw my inspiration karma_leafbarer's Poor Dr_Death in there and had to post about my childhood dreams being fulfilled in amazing ways after many long years!!

karma_leafbarer, who inspired me to make comics in the first place, sent me a neomessage when I published a mini-series of tribute comics inspired by Poor Dr_Death!! I got to draw for patjade, whose old illustrator, izzywizard, inspired me to draw big sparkly eyes as a kid!!!

(... people would say I draw anime-style and I'd deny because I didn't watch anime at the time, I just learned those eyes from izzywizard, and I didn't know the anime I grew up with... were anime... PFFT.)

Ironically, when I drew patjade's characters, I drew them very naturally, not with huge sparkly eyes, but I learned to draw horses before people, so I'm used to drawing those in more detail!

(........ and yes, that username I've been using for a long, long time and which was also my first username on tumblr was, in fact, a reference to a poem by Bashou's namesake, yes.)
