My friends, our gutters are now cleaned! There were small ecosystems up there!
SteveBob
PlurkRani
And you wiped them out!
Prue
Yep. I am the destroyer of worlds.

Prue
how did you access my selfies?!
CoyotePacə
Enterprising! I gave in and started farming that job out a couple of years ago; 24 feet of ladder is starting to seem like a bit much to me
BenwinM
Prue : "I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds..." So, you're Shiva or Robert Oppenheimer? ;-)
PlurkRani
Oppenheimer was quoting Krishna from the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu.
PlurkRani
But Shiva is the destroyer, it's true!
PlurkRani
And the fearsome Kali, seen above, is a consort of Shiva. Here we see her trampling him. https://images.plurk.com/5MAQkNYj3EGQPsmcPP7rA8.jpg
PlurkRani
I'm lots of fun at parties!
Prue
I fear I'd be a bit useless at Hindu deity quizz night. I bags Polly for my team tho!
Prue
Also, is that Kali's cat? or dog? or badger?
PlurkRani
Most major Hindu deities have mounts (Ganesha's is a mouse which must be something to behold). Kali's is a wolf. So, I don't know what that is over there, and it looks more feline than canine, but I'm guessing it's a wolf and it's her mount.
PlurkRani
You can see it in these pictures https://images.plurk.com/llolHlvEQzOPcpMeUl7LQ.jpg https://images.plurk.com/7ILPIBQIKXxF00BZOFwDgg.jpg https://images.plurk.com/781r2HitdOlLvnvgaK9U5w.jpg https://images.plurk.com/5qZetjV9Rvd2aR90tLrH1Y.jpg

That's a big mouse https://images.plurk.com/1DFmHbCIbl71PbJQtWWArF.jpg
Prue
I can indeed! although the one in the second pic could be a goat.
PlurkRani
Yeah, actually, I think it is. Cloven hooves and whatnot.
PlurkRani
But it sure matches the way the wolf is treated in other works.
PlurkRani
Vertical and everything.
Prue
species is a fuzzy concept tbh
PlurkRani
And given the genuinely ancient nature of Hinduism it's entirely possible that she didn't always have a wolf.
Prue
oh quite
Prue
I wonder what her original proto indo European version was like.
PlurkRani
That is lost to the sands of time!
Prue
innit
PlurkRani
It turns out that the climate of India does not promote the preservation of works set down on palm leaves.
PlurkRani
And to anyone who hasn't tuned out this discussion, I feel like this is a good place to say again that if you ever wondered what Greek religion was like before it became mythology, look to Hinduism. They're still doing it.
Prue
India is very coy when it comes to paleontology too. almost no early human/hominin fossils, although we know they mustve been there.
Prue
And yeah in some cases the Greek and Hindu gods even have the same ancestors!
BenwinM
Well, so much for my knowledge of mysticism.
PlurkRani
Yeah, it is odd. Even the ancient cities of the Harappan plane are largely bereft of human remains.
PlurkRani
There are lots of connections. They were definitely in touch.
PlurkRani
BenwinM Just think: It all started with Prue's apocalyptic gutter cleaning!
Prue
My intention was to be the Preserver of Walls
PlurkRani
Ha ha ha ha!
